The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) marked its 23rd BRS Formation Day amidst the election fervor for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Telangana, reaffirming its commitment to serving the people. It’s the party’s first foundation day since losing power to the Congress in Telangana.
BRS’s working president, K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), led the celebrations by hoisting the party flag at Telangana Bhavan, the party headquarters. KTR paid homage to “Telangana thalli” (mother Telangana) with floral tributes.

Founded by K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) in 2001 to advocate for Telangana statehood, TRS rebranded to BRS in 2022. KTR praised KCR’s leadership during the Telangana movement, emphasizing its influence on other states’ democratic struggles.
Despite challenges, KTR highlighted KCR’s determination to represent Telangana’s voice in legislative bodies. He credited the people’s faith in KCR for the party’s 2014 mandate.
Reflecting on TRS’s governance, KTR noted efforts to elevate Telangana’s status nationally. The party’s rebranding to BRS aimed to extend this progress nationwide, though recent election results in Telangana were disappointing.
Nevertheless, KTR affirmed the party’s unwavering commitment to serving the people, urging members to follow KCR’s visionary leadership.
