Elections are currently underway peacefully in both Telugu states. However, in some areas of Andhra Pradesh, tensions escalated between the two main parties, TDP and YCP, resulting in clashes. State minister Jogi Ramesh’s son, Jogi Rajeev, and his supporters stirred up trouble in the Penamalur constituency by gathering at a polling center.
Accompanied by a large group of workers, Jogi Rajeev arrived at the polling center, sparking further unrest. This prompted relatives of local leader Bode to also converge at the scene, escalating the tension in the area.
To diffuse the situation, the police swiftly intervened and used batons to disperse the warring factions. Jogi Ramesh, a YCP candidate from the Penamalur assembly seat, had won in the previous election representing Pedana. He was later appointed to the housing department in CM YS Jagan’s cabinet reshuffle, despite hailing from the Mylavaram constituency.
