Mudragada Padmanabham, a prominent Kapu leader, recently unleashed strong criticisms towards Pawan Kalyan, the head of Jana Sena, following his alignment with the YSR Congress Party. In a recent statement, Mudragada scrutinized Kalyan’s transition from cinema to politics, questioning the sincerity of his motives, particularly hinting at financial interests. He rebuked Kalyan for purportedly siding with Chandrababu Naidu during the Kapu movement, accusing Naidu of quelling the movement and subjecting his family to indignities. Mudragada recounted the ordeal his family endured, including his wife, daughter-in-law, and children, who were reportedly held in harsh conditions for 14 days, deprived of basic amenities like clean drinking water.
Speaking at a gathering of YSR Congress Party’s Kapu community members in Undi, Mudragada Padmanabham, accompanied by YSRCP MLA candidate P.V.L. Narsimha Raju, voiced his disappointment with Kalyan’s silence amid his family’s ordeal under Naidu’s regime. He also expressed his dismay at facing verbal attacks upon joining the YSRCP following an invitation from Jagan Mohan Reddy, questioning the rationale behind aligning with such figures. Mudragada Padmanabham directly challenged Kalyan’s political stature, questioning the presence of even a single MLA under his leadership and his ability to compete on a statewide level.
