Now, the much-awaited sequel, Tillu Square, has finally hit theaters after much anticipation. With Anupama Parameswaran adding her charm to Siddhu’s impeccable timing, the film rides high on expectations. While the trailer kept the storyline under wraps, it promises another dose of entertaining comedy. Let’s delve into the US premiere review to see the predicament Tillu faces due to Lilly.
Story:
Balagangadhar Tilak, alias Tillu (Siddhu Jonnalagadda), transitions from being a DJ to an event planner. His life takes a turn when he meets Lilly (Anupama Parameswaran) at a party and falls for her. However, his world is turned upside down due to a murder on his previous birthday. Tillu Square delves into the mystery surrounding Lilly and the events that unfold.
Performances:
Once again, Siddhu Jonnalagadda delivers a stellar performance as Tillu. His impeccable one-liners and impeccable timing continue to captivate audiences. From dialogue delivery to dance sequences, Siddhu impresses as DJ Tillu.
Anupama Parameswaran’s allure adds an extra dimension to the film. Her glamour, kisses, and performance complement Siddhu’s act, enhancing the appeal of Tillu Square.
Neha Shetty shines in her brief yet impactful appearance as Radhika. Her on-screen presence adds to the allure of the film.
Murli Sharma, Muralidhar Goud, Prince, and the rest of the cast deliver commendable performances in their respective roles.
Technical Aspects:
Tillu Square is an extension of DJ Tillu, driven by Siddhu’s witty one-liners and Anupama’s charm. While the plot may be thin, the cinematography and production values are commendable. The runtime of approximately 120 minutes works in favor of the film, while the songs, including the remix of DJ Tillu’s title track, are enjoyable.
Positive Points:
– Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s performance
– Siddhu’s one-liners
– Anupama’s charm
– Catchy songs
Negative Points:
– Weak plot
– Repetitive scenes
– Excessive references to the first part
Analysis:
Sequels often face the challenge of living up to the success of their predecessors, and Tillu Square rises to the occasion. The film strikes a balance between entertaining the audience and maintaining the essence of DJ Tillu. Anupama’s transformation adds intrigue, while Siddhu’s dialogues and performance keep the audience engaged. While the first half relies heavily on references from the previous installment, the second half delves deeper into Tillu’s story, delivering twists and turns that keep viewers hooked. Despite its shortcomings, Tillu Square succeeds in delivering entertainment and laughter.
Verdict:
Tillu Square is a wild and funny ride that entertains from start to finish. While it may not surpass the craze of DJ Tillu, it cleverly leverages the hype of its predecessor to deliver an enjoyable cinematic experience.
