Telugu Desam Party President and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to travel to New Delhi on Thursday morning amidst widespread speculation about a potential agreement with the Bharatiya Janata Party for the upcoming state elections.
Party insiders revealed that Naidu received a call from the BJP’s national leadership on Wednesday evening, summoning him to Delhi the following day. While there are rumors that Jana Sena Party President Pawan Kalyan also received a similar call, there’s no official confirmation.
Apparently, the invitation to Naidu came after discussions between BJP’s state president Daggubati Purandeshwari, who visited the national capital earlier on Wednesday, and the party’s national leaders. Initially hesitant to ally with TDP, the BJP’s stance reportedly softened following Purandeshwari’s intervention.
Conflicting reports abound regarding the seat allocation within the TDP-Jana Sena Party alliance and the BJP. One suggests BJP may receive 10 assembly and five Lok Sabha seats, while another indicates five MP and nine assembly seats. A third version proposes four Lok Sabha, one Rajya Sabha (after two years), and eight MLA seats for the BJP.
The identified Lok Sabha constituencies for the BJP include Araku, Rajahmundry, Narsapuram, Tirupati, and Rajampet/Hindupur. For assembly seats, Guntur (West), Visakhapatnam (North), Jammalamadugu, Kaikaluru, Dharmavaram, Kalahasti, and additional seats in Tirupati, East Godavari, and Anantapur districts are mentioned.
If the alliance materializes, a joint election manifesto is expected to be unveiled at a public gathering in either Tirupati or Amaravati, involving all three parties – TDP, Jana Sena Party, and BJP.
