The market for smart TVs is high in the current generation. Oneplus and Realme have their brand in every product they release. But here’s something the owners of One Plus and Realme have decided to pause the sale of televisions.

We all know that OnePlus achieved a reasonable level of success in the affordable smart TV segment after launching its initial TV in 2020, subsequently venturing into the premium TV market. Realme, on the other hand, made its entry into the TV segment in 2021, primarily focusing on the affordable segment.
The owners also ensured that they were not out of the game completely, they’ll always be the best competitor for other brands as usual with the same dedication and enthusiasm.
Market analysis reveals that in the first half of 2023, India witnessed a shipment of 4.5 million televisions, marking an 8% year-over-year increase.
While the 32-inch and 43-inch screen sizes continued to dominate with a collective share of 71%, larger screens, particularly the 55-inch segment, experienced a rise in popularity,
Consumers are now opting for affordable smart TVs rather than retrofitting non-smart TVs with streaming sticks, which have witnessed an 85% decline in shipments in the first half of 2023 due to declining prices from the resources.
The average selling price (ASP) of smart TVs stood at $380 in the first half of 2023, reflecting a 3% year-over-year decline. Brands are actively focusing on launching low-priced models in the budget segment, resulting in a notable increase in the share of sub-$200 TVs from 26% to 39% during the same period.
Although, One Plus and Realme are well known for their unique specification for any product they launch. Let’s hope for more interesting products from them though there are thoughts of leaving the race of smart TVs.
