Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a significant step in his political journey by filing his nomination from Varanasi for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, PM Modi submitted his papers, marking his bid for a third consecutive term from this iconic constituency.
Varanasi holds special significance for PM Modi, having secured victory here twice before. This time, he faces competition from Congress candidate Ajai Rai and BSP’s Athar Ali Lari. Despite the challengers, PM Modi’s popularity in Varanasi remains strong, as seen in his significant margin of victory in previous elections.

comedian Shyam Rangeela has expressed his intention to contest against PM Modi, adding an interesting twist to the electoral dynamics. However, he has yet to file his nomination.
Before filing his papers, PM Modi paid homage at the Dashashwamedh Ghat and visited the Kaal Bhairav Temple, underscoring the spiritual connection he shares with Varanasi.
The choice of timing for filing the nomination, between 11:40 am and 12 noon, holds symbolic importance, coinciding with the auspicious Pushya Nakshatra and Ganga Saptami.
PM Modi’s nomination event saw the presence of several political leaders, including Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, highlighting the widespread support from BJP allies.
With Varanasi set to vote in the final phase of the elections on June 1, all eyes are on PM Modi as he seeks to reaffirm his stronghold in this historic city and secure another term as its representative in the Lok Sabha.
