The title teaser of go upcoming film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, tentatively titled ‘Coolie’, has got into trouble. The teaser features music by Ilaiyaraaja and this has raised concerns about copyright infringement. In a few days after the release, he has sent a notice for unauthorized use of his music to the team behind the movie.
When asked about it on his departure from Chennai airport yesterday morning, Rajinikanth politely turned the question saying that it was between Ilayaraja and Kalanithi Maran. This answer defused what could have escalated into a social media storm.
As conversations evolve over whether there will be an agreement or not; ‘Coolie’ does not belong to any big-screen universe but instead shows us Rajnikanth as mafia don amidst gold smuggling backdrop .
