While the summer season has seen a steady stream of movies, many haven’t managed to impress audiences. This disappointing trend continued in the first week of May, and now the second week brings two new releases: Prathinidhi 2 starring Nara Rohit, and Krishnamma starring Satyadev, both hitting theaters on Friday.
Despite promotional efforts, these films face an uphill battle due to the upcoming elections. The political buzz has changed what audiences are focusing on, resulting in poor early bookings for both films. Combining their bookings, they struggle to reach even ₹50 lakh gross.
To achieve profitability, each film needs a share of approximately ₹3.5 crore. With limited bookings, strong positive word-of-mouth becomes crucial for their success. Krishnamma may have a slight advantage in initial earnings, but both movies need good reviews to succeed in theaters. Keep an eye on how they perform with audiences.
