Renowned filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli, gearing up for the release of the anticipated animated series ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood,’ highlights a significant disparity in how film franchises are perceived and utilized between the West and India.
During a recent press event held at a multiplex chain in Kondapur, Rajamouli emphasized that the series, set to premiere on May 17, is neither a sequel nor a prequel but rather an independent narrative set within the Baahubali universe.
Rajamouli noted that while successful films in the West often evolve into multi-platform brands encompassing books, games, and animation, India lacks a similar approach. Seeking to bridge this gap, Rajamouli and his team explored various avenues, including pre-stories, character arcs, and gaming, before settling on an animated series as the ideal medium to expand the Baahubali universe.
Produced by Graphic India and Arka Mediaworks, ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’ promises to offer fans a captivating extension of the beloved franchise, with His, Sharad Devarajan, and Shobu Yarlagadda leading the creative charge.
