Madhoo recently talked about her previous statement on being open to playing Ajay Devgn mother in a movie. In an interview with Zoom, she shared a new perspective, highlighting her growth as an actor and her readiness to take on challenges.
Setting the record straight on her earlier comment, Madhoo clarified, “That statement was taken out of context. I was talking hypothetically… But now, I want to correct myself because I’ve evolved as an actor.” She acknowledged her progress over the past few years, emphasizing her diverse roles, such as playing a fairy in Shakuntalam alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Reflecting on the changing landscape of cinema, Madhoo emphasized the newfound freedom and opportunities for actors in today’s era of OTT platforms and diverse storytelling.
She further explained, “As an actor today, if I’m offered a role where I have to portray Ajay Devgn’s mother or the mother of any popular actor from the past, I would see it as a challenge rather than a controversial or sexist topic.” Madhoo highlighted her focus on delivering convincing performances, irrespective of the character’s age or gender.
Madhoo, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Ajay Devgn in Phool Aur Kaante in 1991, is all set to appear in the upcoming thriller Kartam Bhugtam, alongside Shreyas Talpade and Vijay Raaz.
Her willingness to embrace diverse roles and face challenges showcases her versatility and dedication to her craft, promising captivating performances in her future projects.
