The highly anticipated sports drama Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is due to enter theaters this month. The newly released teaser for the film provided fans with a wonderful surprise in the form of a sneak glimpse at the remade song “Dekha Tenu.”
Producer Karan Johar, known for his passionate storytelling took to Instagram on May 14 to give a meaningful message about the song’s impending release. He said, “This song is already echoing in all the hearts with just a small glimpse and it carries on the purity of love that it did befor” Johar’s personal connection to “Dekha Tenu” is clear as he wrote, “A song very close to my heart, soon to be yours from Mr. & Mrs. Mahi – Karan Johar.”
The phrase “Dekha Tenu” initially appeared in the legendary song “Say Shava Shava” from Johar’s hit Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and its reproduction has already piqued fans’ interest. In his Instagram caption, Karan hinted at the song’s impending release, stating, “You know what it’s coming soon.”
Mr. & Mrs. Mahi is a love story about two characters, Mahi and Mahima, whose lives and desires become entwined after meeting. The film, directed by Sharan Sharma and written by Sharma and Nikhil Mehrotra, promises a mix of romance and sports drama.
Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao have been heavily active in the film’s promotion, with Kapoor’s unique promotional clothes attracting a lot of attention. The film is a collaboration between Zee Studios and Dharma Productions, produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Zee Studios. Mr. & Mrs. Mahi is scheduled to open in theaters on May 31, 2024.
