In a recent update, a Karnataka court made a ruling about JD-S lawmaker H.D. Revanna, who is the son of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, in connection with an ongoing investigation into his son, JD-S MP and NDA candidate Prajwal Revanna.
The court, on Sunday, decided to put H.D. Revanna in the custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) until May 8. This decision was made during a session held before the 17th Additional City Metropolitan Magistrate, Ravindra Kumar B. Kattimani, at his home in Koramangala, Bengaluru. The SIT presented their case, supporting a five-day custody period, giving 15 reasons why further questioning is necessary.
H.D. Revanna was taken in on Saturday evening in relation to a kidnapping case linked to one of the people affected by the sensitive matter concerning his son.
During the proceedings, the SIT’s lawyers stressed the seriousness of the case, highlighting the need for Revanna’s custody. On the other hand, Revanna’s lawyer, Muthy D. Naik, raised worries about his client’s health and alleged mistreatment by the SIT.
Considering these factors, the magistrate allowed Revanna an hour to talk to his lawyer and told the SIT to organize his meals.

In a related update, the Karnataka Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Revanna after a report of a woman’s disappearance, thought to be linked to the sensitive matter involving his son. The woman’s son had made a missing person report, saying his mother was kidnapped. Satish Babu, a relative of Revanna, was named as the second accused in the FIR and was taken in Mysuru district.
The woman’s son stated that his mother had vanished after a supposed video emerged showing Revanna in a bad situation with her. He also said his mother was being held against her will in a secret place, asking law enforcement to take action against Revanna and Satish Babu.
