APSRTC:  The countdown to the Andhra Pradesh elections has begun, with polling scheduled to start tomorrow, May 13. Anticipation is high for what’s being touted as the most intense election in the state’s history.

In preparation for the polls, the Telangana government has made arrangements to assist voters. TSRTC is said to have organized 2000 special buses to transport voters from Andhra Pradesh who are returning to their hometowns to cast their votes. However, there’s a noticeable absence of similar proactive measures from APSRTC.

Typically, a ruling party confident in its re-election prospects would arrange transportation, especially RTC buses, to bring native voters working in other states back home. However, the YSR Congress government hasn’t taken any such action, which is especially concerning to Hyderabad voters, who make up a sizable portion of the city’s population. This lack of action raises the question of how certain the ruling party is of its understanding of public opinion.
