Virtual treatment for patients of HyderabadJul 28, 2020 10:50 AM
The pandemic crisis has adversely affected the lives of all, especially the patients who were in a critical condition at the time of the novel coronavirus outbreak. Mohd Mustafa is one of those many patients who were undergoing treatment at the Government Nizamia General Hospital of Hyderabad when the pandemic outbreak took place. These patients were discharged at a time when they were in need of it. Since the outbreak, the hospital was transformed into a Level-1 quarantine center in the month of March.
Mustafa was undergoing treatment for paralysis when he, along with 70 other chronically ill patients, was discharged from the hospital. In the midst of their treatment, they were sent back home. Since then, they haven't received any treatment and they were really in need of it. However, the same hospital that practices Unani medicine has extended its helping hands to all these patients. They have decided to provide telehealth facilities while collaborating with Helping Hand Foundation (HHF), which is a city-based NGO, to all these patients. What could be a better use of technology than using it for the welfare of patients through telemedicine? Patients are being treated through a virtual consultation.
Another patient Asad is quite happy with the services that the hospital is providing. The dedicated home care service being provided by Nizamia Unani Hospital has helped these patients to undergo treatment back again after two months. The HHF home care services comprise a physiotherapist, counselors, and patient caregivers and the team is visiting the houses of all the patients who were left untreated in the middle.
