Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba arrived in New Delhi on Thursday to bolster bilateral relations with India, following discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy aimed at fostering peace.
In the first high-level visit by a Ukrainian leader since the onset of hostilities with Russia in 2022, Kuleba commenced his two-day official visit at the invitation of External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
“I am commencing my visit to New Delhi upon the invitation of @DrSJaishankar. Ukrainian-Indian cooperation holds significance, and we aim to revitalize ties,” Kuleba stated in a post on X on Thursday.
“We will focus on advancing the Peace Formula, building upon the discussions between @ZelenskyyUa and @NarendraModi,” he added.
During his visit, Kuleba is scheduled to meet with EAM Jaishankar and Deputy National Security Adviser Vikram Misri to discuss matters concerning bilateral partnership and cooperation on regional and global issues of mutual interest, as per the Ministry of External Affairs.
Kuleba’s visit coincides with Prime Minister Modi’s recent conversations with the Presidents of Ukraine and Russia via telephone this month.
During his discussion with Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s support for all endeavors towards an early and peaceful resolution of issues between Kiev and Moscow.
The Prime Minister underscored India’s commitment to contributing within its capabilities to facilitate a peaceful resolution, with Zelensky acknowledging the country’s ongoing humanitarian assistance to the people of Ukraine.
