TTD Assets and the Political ConundrumMay 25, 2020 10:28 AM
So far the yes-man of Modi Sarkar is YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. It is rather strange that the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh is a blue-eyed boy for the ruling party for showing absolute submission to every policy proposed by Modi Sarkar. However, things are pretty complicated when it comes to BJP and its ideological proclivity towards Temples and Hindu culture. It would be a challenging thing for the BJP when it comes to propertied under Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.
The decision is sensitive and it would raise enough controversy. According to the chairman Y V Subba Reddy, the decision of selling the 50 immovable properties was decided by the previous Board of trustees. TTD would be selling around 23 properties which are unviable and not maintained in the states of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The decision looks preposterous because it raises doubts on the efficiency of the current TTD board.
How can the board not maintain the properties donated by devotes?
It does raise doubt on the management itself. The BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana is infuriated and considers selling the property as anti-Hindu act. He challenged the state Government that BJP will never allow it to happen. But would the state president convince PM Modi who assured full support to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The BJP has to choose between their core ideologies and political allied. Also, there is controversy over TTD Chairman Y V Subba Reddy’s religion. There were plenty of media reports about his Christian faith. Many devotees are accusing Jagan Mohan Reddy of appointing in Y V Subba Reddy as chairman. The reports state that Jagan is eager to bring more Christians.
