Tollywood Meeting Updates: Postproduction can resume from TomorrowMay 22, 2020 09:57 AM
Cinematography Minister TalasaniSrinivasYadav has met the Tollywood bigwigs to discuss resuming shootings in Tollywood. Nagarjuna, Suresh Babu, DilRaju, Rajamouli, TrivikramSrinivas, Koratala Siva, and N. Shankar, etcwere present during the occasion. The top heads in the industry shared their ideas with the minister over postproduction work and guidelines to be followed at the shooting sets.
The Minister gave a patient hearing and responded positively to the proposals of the TFI. Speaking to the media, SrinivasYadav said that they discussed opening the cinema halls, shooting of movies and TV serials along with post-production works. Among these discussed issues, the Minister expressed that there is no issue to resume postproduction. Accordingly, the orders are issued immediately to go ahead with postproduction from tomorrow.
About permitting the movie theatres, the Minister raised doubts over the audience footfalls at the theatres even if they are opened. Further, Cinematography Minister explained that a mock shooting is also done by the cine industry recently as an exercise taking all the precautions. He opined that a clear decision can only be taken on resuming shoots when the lockdown ends on 29th May.
Minister also responded on the plight of 14000 cine workers. He said that the Government will also support CCC in reaching out to workers during the second phase also. Producer DilRaju felt that the decision of opening cinema theatres will solely depend on the Central Government. Hence, he clarified that they only focused on discussing further plans to resume shootings and postproduction.
Another producer C. Kalyan stated that the Minister responded positively and gave assurance over resuming the operations in Tollywood as soon as possible. In the meeting, the TFI representatives also appealed to the Minister to arrange an appointment with the Chief Minister to discuss supportive measures to the industry.
As of now, the Tollywood got a nod to resume postproduction works. But it seems that they have to wait till the lockdown is lifted to attain clarity on shootings and cinema halls.
