The world is Beyond TikTok Says CelebrityJul 13, 2020 09:04 AM
TikTok wasn’t only rage, but bread and butter for many people. The app was quite lucrative for many youngsters who became celebrities through it. However, the recent political events at the border and the Corona pandemic had diametrically transformed the economic relations between China and India. The Chinese video app is banned by the Indian Government.
Niharika Jain was one of the influencers who was a Tiktok celebrity and had huge followers. The 23-year old mass communication graduate was making 30,000 a month through TikTok. She had nearly 2.8 million followers, and she used to give fashion tips. The hard work in creating a brand had to go in vain after the Government decision to ban 59 Chinese apps.
Niharika concurs with Government's decision and said, “I understand the need for this government move. I completely support Mr Modi.”
She also believes that it is the talent that brought her fame not merely TikTok, and she will find another platform and build a new brand.
Many such influencers have achieved cult status on TikTok. They are stars with many followers. The ban is certainly a setback to the people.
The owner of TikTok is ByteDance, a Beijing-based Internet technology company. There were nearly 200 million users in India around the age group of 16-24 years. The youth in India latched on to it and it became a craze among schoolgirls, dancers, cooks, musicians, etc.
Post-stand-off between India and China at Galwan Valley most of the Indians who were famous TikTok have supported the Government decision. Perhaps it is a great opportunity for Indian entrepreneurs to make a similar app and provide a dynamic platform to the people.
