Gunda Ravinder, an ardent supporter of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao since the separate Telangana movement, constructed a modest temple at his Dhandepalli residence in 2016 to pay homage to KCR. Regrettably, due to a lack of support from the BRS leader, Ravinder has decided to sell the temple.
Ravinder, belonging to the Arya Vysya community, was captivated by the BRS’s endeavors during the statehood movement and expressed his admiration for KCR by investing Rs 2 lakh in building a small temple at his home.
Feeling neglected by Mancherial BRS MLA N. Diwakar Rao, Ravinder has opted to put the temple on the market. He expressed disappointment at the absence of BRS leaders, including MLC K Kavitha and Mancherial district leaders, at the temple’s inauguration, despite extending invitations.
Although Ravinder previously enjoyed a positive relationship with KCR during the Telangana movement, he expressed dismay after unsuccessful attempts to contact the CM at Pragathi Bhavan and Telangana Bhavan.
The potential sale of the KCR temple could convey negative signals to the electorate, suggesting a lack of respect for Telangana sentiment by the CM. This sentiment played a crucial role in the formation of separate Telangana and addressing perceived injustices related to ‘Neellu, Nidhulu, and Niyamakalu.’ The repercussions could adversely affect the BRS in the upcoming elections.
