On June 24, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the Indian squad for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe. With Rohit Sharma taking a break after the demanding ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, Shubman Gill will step in as captain.
India will head to Zimbabwe in early July for a five-match T20I series at Harare Sports Club. The matches are scheduled as follows: the first game on July 6, the second on July 7, the third on July 10, the fourth on July 13, and the fifth on July 14. All games will start at 4:30 pm IST (1 pm local time).
To give the senior players a rest, the team management has opted to leave out all those currently competing in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. This means no Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Rishabh Pant, Shivam Dube, or Mohammed Siraj. Instead, the squad features a host of young talents eager to prove themselves on the international stage.
