Haryana Steelers secured the last playoff spot by defeating Patna Pirates 39-32 in a Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 match at the Tau Devilal Indoor Stadium in Panchkula. Siddharth Desai, with 12 raid points, and Rahul Sethpal with 8 tackle points, played crucial roles for Haryana Steelers, while Thiyagarajan Yuvaraj (6 tackle points) and Sanjay (5 tackle points) stood out for Patna Pirates.
In their first home game of the season, Haryana Steelers started well, taking a 5-1 lead. However, Patna Pirates, resting their regular starters and fielding a fresh line-up, fought back with a Super Tackle from Rohit and an impressive Super Raid from Anuj Kumar. Both teams struggled for the lead, and the first half ended with a tied score of 13-13.
Early in the second half, Patna Pirates’ defense took charge, reducing Haryana Steelers to two men after flattening K. Prapanjan. Although Rahul Sethpal strong Super Tackle gave hope to Haryana Steelers, Patna Pirates executed an All-Out, taking the lead at 21-18 with a brilliant Super Raid from Rohit.
In the following raid, Siddharth’s four-point Super Raid turned the tables, putting Haryana Steelers ahead at 22-21. Patna Pirates, three-time champions, focused on Super Tackles and surged to a 29-26 lead, with Thiyagarajan earning a High 5.
Siddharth once again rescued Haryana Steelers with a powerful raid, and a solid ankle hold from Mohit on Sanjay led to another All-Out, giving the home team a 33-30 lead. With 4 minutes remaining, Haryana Steelers controlled the pace, securing their spot in the playoffs.
