‘Sholay’ Loses Another Star!

The Bollywood has lost its gem of an actor during the Corona times. Jagdeep, the comic actor from ‘Sholay’ passed away at the age of 81. He played the role of SoormaBhopali in the iconic Indian film. The veteran actor has breathed his last in his Mumbai residence due to age-related ailments. Jagdeep’s original name is ‘Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri’ and he is also the father of dancer actor ‘JavedJaffri’.

Producer Mehmood Ali a close friend of the actor has announced to the PTI that Jagdeep has breathed his last at 8:30 PM on Wednesday. The actor who started in cinema as a child artiste worked in films like ‘AbDilli Door Nahi’ produced by Raj Kapoor also. In the 1990s his role as Salman Khan’s father in RajkumarSantoshi’sAamir-Salman starrer ‘AndazApnaApna’ is also well remembered by the audience.

These are turbulent times for Bollywood as many of its iconic actors passed away during the Corona times. Starting from Irfan Khan, the big industry has lost in a big way including the great evergreen romantic hero Rishi Kapoor. Before the B-Town recover from the shock of the suicidal death of Sushant, it lost its legendary choreographer Saroj Khan the other day. The saddest part is that the pandemic situation is evading many celebs to pay proper tribute to these legends in person.

Jagdeep has acted in about 400 films in his active career. The microblogging site Twitter is flooding with the tributes to the late actor. Sholay’sVeeru (Dharmendra) expressed shock over losing his costar. Similarly, Big B expressed that Bollywood has lost another gem and an exceptional comedian repertoire. Expressing his deepest condolences, ShatrughanSinha revealed that he was a neighbor during his initial days and bought his first car 'Austin' from late actor Jagdeep.
