Senior Journalist in Trouble After Writing False News on Chief Minister of Telangana

There was a case registered in Jubilee Hills Police station against a scribe who runs a Telugu daily. He peddled fake news on Chief Minister KCR and his employee that they got infected with Coronavirus. He reported that the CM of Telangana is hiding from the public in his farmhouse because he is infected with Covid-19.

The Jubilee Hills Police station booked a case under IPC sections 505 (2) and 505 (b) against the Journalist after the complaint was raised by a private person. Senior Journalist Anam Chinni Venkateshwara Rao made a callous remark on the Chief Minister and the employees at Pragati Bhavan. There was a story on Sunday in Aadab Hyderabad Telugu daily that the Chief Minister of Telangana had moved to the farmhouse previous week after 30 employees in his camp office Pragati Bhavan tested positive of Coronavirus.

The intention seemed malicious as there was no verification and it was a rumor which created unnecessary panic. The report was mere speculation and it only backfired. While the case was filed against him the senior journalist was in Khammam. He might have escaped after the early morning walk. The family was worried and everyone through that he was kidnapped. However, it was later revealed through a friend that the police had taken him and he is interrogated. There is already a case booked against him; however, nothing is confirmed if he would be arrested.
