Say No to Fake News and Take a Stance Against Misleading InformationMay 07, 2020 07:15 AM
Gold Andhra would always take a stance against fake news. We write against websites which are hell-bent to destroy careers of celebrities. It is important to counter any misrepresentation and character assassination. We stand with Vijay Deverakonda and admire his gumption for speaking against an article that published wrong information about his intention and all the charity works that he participated in. The support that he garnered through Tweeter is amazing. All major celebrities extended their support: Heroes Mahesh babu, Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja, Adivi Sesh, Allari Naresh, Directors Harish Shankar, Anil Ravipudi, Vamsi Paidipalli, Koratala Siva, Mohan Krishna Indraganti and more along with Active Telugu Film Producers Guild by tweeting in favor of Vijay Devarakonda.
The letter to Tollywood by Great Andhra editor was nowhere close to an apology. It was, in fact, admonishing not only the actor but the entire film industry. He was very smug of 17 years in the digital media industry. Sorry gentlemen but a number of years in a particular field does not mean that you can indulge in spreading rumors and jeopardizing careers. The writer had nothing but conjecture – he hardly gathered information about the charity works of Vijay Deverakonda. Why give tacit support to a writer who did not do his homework well. The editor should ideally reprimand the writer instead of chiding the actor and showing his clout in the film world.
Dear editor of Great Andhra we are not interested in your stint in the film industry and also the hobnobbing with big shots. You don’t have to tell us about the clean track record or blackmailing. Seriously! Why talk about it in the first place – or is it, “Gummadi kayala dhonga yevarante bhujaalu thadumukunnattu.”
The film industry would appreciate if you take a stance and accept the mistake. The article on your website was a total goof-up. It riled all the big celebrities in the Telugu film industry. They were the source of gossips and the number of hits that your website received for all these years. You almost killed the goose that laid golden eggs. Today the industry stands united to kill fake news that your website spread.
I don’t understand the logic behind writing a negative review. Let the audience decide the success and failure of a movie. Why manufacture consent by incessantly writing negative reviews of a particular film. It is very much evident from your website that you have an agenda and a subjective opinion on movies and politics. You might go through the review of the movie, but filter it with your inherent bias. Also, your website glorifies the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and compares his biopic with God Father. It certainly reeks of agenda and lack objectivity. Moreover it is laughable.
