Renowned Bollywood Choreographer Saroj Khan is No More

Saroj Khan, the Bollywood Choreographer who turned many heroines into dancing angels on screen has died last night at the age of 71. The choreographer was not well since a fortnight and she was admitted to Gurunanak Hospital in Bandra on 20th June. She was tested negative for the mandatory COVID 19. But unfortunately, she succumbed to death due to cardiac arrest.

Manish Jagwani, a nephew of Khan officially announced the sad demise of her to the PTI. The renowned choreographer has brought life to over 2000 songs in a career spanning four decades. Her choreography in ‘Ek Do Teen Char’ song from ‘Tezab’ has catapulted Madhuri Dixit into the top slot in Bollywood. In fact, Saroj Khan’s support to Madhuri made her number one heroine in Bollywood beating the then reigning superstar Sridevi.

‘I'm devastated by the loss of my friend and guru, Saroj Khan. Will always be grateful for her work in helping me reach my full potential in dance. The world has lost an amazingly talented person. I will miss you. My sincere condolences to the family. RIP Sarojji’ tweeted Madhuri Dixit. Several other Bollywood stars including Akshay Kumar, Shabana Azmi, Jackie Shroff, Kangana Ranaut, John Abraham, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh and etc are pouring in their condolences on the demise of Saroj Khan.

‘Saddened to hear about legendary Saroj Khan such a vision she was while dancing with unparalleled technical skills. Each of her songs is a masterpiece. Keep them all gyrating Masterji’ expressed Urmila Matondkar. While the Corona times are playing havoc with the film industry, Bollywood losing some of its greats is leaving the fraternity in great grief.
