Close contests are unfolding in Patiala and Ferozepur, where Congress candidates Dr. Dharamvir Gandhi and Sher Singh Ghubaya are locked in tight battles with their opponents.In Sangrur, AAP’s Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, a minister in the Bhagwant Mann government, has taken an early lead over sitting MP Simranjit Singh Mann and Congress’ Sukhpal Khaira. In Khadoor Sahib and Faridkot, jailed radical Sikh leader Amritpal Singh and Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa, the son of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassin Beant Singh, are currently leading.
