Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi chief minister, was provided bail in the matter of liquor policy. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader attorneys effectively argued that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) lacked sufficient proof toward his name.
The accused politician Kejriwal, is scheduled to be published to prison tomorrow, assuming that all required paperwork is completed. His attorney argued the ED’s case was heavily reliant on assertions from people who were now approvers, raising concerns about their credibility.
“These assertions are from individuals who have acknowledged that they are guilty. They are not neutral eyewitnesses a lot were probably offered bail and forgives as a reward for their evidence.” Mr. Kejriwal’s lawyer said. After reviewing these arguments, the court granted bail around 8 pm.
The defense also cast doubt on the prosecution’s case, particularly the lack of solid evidence connecting ₹ 100 crore from the so-called ‘South Group’—a lobby from Telangana accused of influencing liquor licenses in Delhi.
The charges are based on fake assertions to weakened sources. There is no direct evidence supporting the assertion that ₹ 100 crore originated into the ‘The southern part Group’. “Those are simply allegations with no evidence,” the lawyer argued.
It’s a significant development in the liquor policy case, as Mr. Kejriwal is set to return to his role as Delhi Chief Minister.
