Kesineni Sivanath, the TDP candidate for the Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency, is optimistic about securing a significant victory against his brother, Kesineni Srinivas (Nani), the YSRC nominee. In an interview, Sivanath dismissed Nani’s criticisms of TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu, emphasizing his family’s long-standing allegiance to the party.
Regarding his selection over his brother, Kesineni Sivanath attributed it to Nani’s divergence from party principles and leadership during the previous election cycle. He highlighted his own dedication to social service and party initiatives, which garnered public trust and secured his candidacy.
Responding to Nani’s allegations of ticket distribution malpractice, Sivanath condemned his brother’s derogatory remarks and emphasized the need for constructive policy discourse. He pointed out Nani’s previous praise for Naidu, questioning his sudden shift in stance after being denied a party ticket.
Sivanath unveiled a tailored manifesto for the Vijayawada constituency, expressing confidence in fulfilling its promises if elected. He outlined plans for infrastructure development, including a new flyover and RO plants for safe drinking water, leveraging both government funds and private sector support.
Reflecting on public response to his campaign, Sivanath noted overwhelming support for the TDP, positioning the contest as one between his humility and Nani’s arrogance. He anticipated a clean sweep for the TDP-led alliance across the constituency’s seven Assembly segments.
