In response to numerous complaints lodged by opposition parties regarding the current Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh, K Rajendranath Reddy, the Election Commission has taken decisive action.
Recently, the Election Commission issued a prompt directive for the immediate transfer of AP DGP K Rajendranath Reddy. This decision was made public mere minutes ago, emphasizing that he is to be relieved from any election-related duties.
Furthermore, the Election Commission has instructed the state government to propose three suitable candidates for the Deputy General rank by 11 AM tomorrow, May 6th, to succeed Rajendranath Reddy. This signifies that Andhra Pradesh will soon witness the appointment of a new DGP.
The push to replace Rajendranath Reddy gained momentum following the incident involving an attack on Jagan Mohan Reddy, which opposition parties alleged to be a pre-election stunt and a significant lapse on the part of AP’s top police official, Rajendranath Reddy.
