At a recent gathering in Kakinada, Chandrababu Naidu made some important statements about the importance of Pattadar passbooks. He said that it is necessary for one’s photograph to appear on the document so that it is clear and there can be no doubt about who owns it. The Chief Minister went on to talk about how useful these books are when dealing with land issues, stating that an ‘M’ stands for Jagananna’s title deed.
He promised those present that they would receive their own booklets complete with photographs as soon as they arrived. What he said also reflects the government’s drive towards simplifying processes involved in recording land ownerships thereby ensuring transparency and accountability over properties owned by citizens.
