Ambati Rambabu, a well-known name in politics, has been in the spotlight recently. Despite being a minister, little has been accomplished in his role in the drainage department. The campaign to oust Ambati Rambabu from the Sattenapalli constituency has been ongoing for some time. Even YS Jagan, the YCP leader, initially sought to avoid him. However, leveraging caste equations, Ambati managed to secure the ticket.
Contesting against him was TDP’s Kanna Lakshminarayana, who ran a vigorous election campaign. Despite the intensity of the campaign, Ambati Rambabu‘s opposition worked in his favor. Following the polls, he appealed to the Central Election Commission for re-polling, citing concerns. However, the Commission dismissed the request, affirming the peaceful conduct of the overall polling process. Ambati’s plea for re-polling, seemingly rooted in fear of defeat, may indicate a tacit acknowledgment of his potential loss.
