Political Career:

He started his Political Journey with the Telugu Desam Party(TDP). He was first elected as Panchayat Samiti President of Mallial in 1981. Jeevan Reddy was again elected as MLA for the first time from TDP in the year 1983 and was inducted in the State Cabinet with an Excise Minister portfolio.

In 1984, He joined the Indian National Congress Party (INC). From 1989-1994, he was served as a Member of the 9th A.P. Legislative Assembly(MLA) of Jagtial Constituency, Karimnagar Dist from the INC Party. From 1996-1999, he worked as a Member of the 10th A.P. Legislative Assembly(MLA) of Jagtial Constituency, Karimnagar Dist from the INC Party. From 1999-2004, he again elected as a Member of the 11th A.P. Legislative Assembly(MLA) of Jagtial Constituency, Karimnagar Dist from the INC Party.

From 2004-2009, He was served as a Member of the 12th A.P. Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Jagtial Constituency, Karimnagar Dist from the INC Party. Reddy contested against the T.R.S Party President in the Parliament by-election in the year 2006 and 2008. In the 2008 Parliament elections, he lost marginally with 14,000 only.  In 2006, he was inducted into the State Cabinet till 2009 during which he held the portfolio of R&B. After the formation of Telangana State, he won the only seat from North Telangana for Congress.

From 2007-2009, he was the Minister of Roads and Buildings from Andhra Pradesh. He is a senior member of the Congress Party. From 2014-2018, he was the Member of the 1st Telangana Legislative Assembly(MLA) of Jagtial Constituency, Karimnagar Dist from the INC Party. In 2019, He elected as a Member of the Legislative Council(MLC) from the Karimnagar Assembly constituency.
