Nadipelli Diwakar Rao started his Political Journey with the Indian National Congress Party(INC). He was elected as Ward Member of Mancherial municipality in 1981.

He was General Secretary of the Manchiryala Congress Party from 1983-1992 and in 1987 as the Manchiryala Mandal Single Window Chairman with the largest majority in the Asifabad Division. He then served as the President of the Manchirala Block Congress for ten years from 1989 to 1999. In 1999, He was served as MLA of Luxettipet(Assembly constituency) from the Congress Party.

Early life:

Nadipelli Diwakar Rao was born in Adilabad, Telangana to N. Laxman Rao. He is a graduate and did his BA. He was an agriculturist before joining politics.

Political career:

In 2004, He was served as MLA of Luxettipet(Assembly constituency) from the Congress Party. He joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Party. As part of the 2014 Telangana general elections in the separate state of Telangana, he contested on the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party ticket and won over Congress candidate Arvind Reddy with a majority of over 59,000 votes. He has won the Manchirala Assembly constituency four times. In the Telangana by-elections held in 2018, he contested from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party and won over the nearest Congress candidate Kokira Prem Sagar Rao by a majority of over 4,000 votes. No public representative was elected four times since the creation of the segment in 1952.
