Early life:

Born to Ramachandra Reddy and Savithri in Nagaram Village, Arvapally Mandal, Suryapet district, Telangana State, India, he has four siblings. He graduated as a B.A. from Sri Venkateshwar Degree College, Suryapet (Osmania University) in 1985. He did his Bachelor of Law from Siddartha Law College, Vijayawada, Nagarjuna University. He stood as a student leader, activist and emerged as a political leader.

Political career:

In 2001, He actively participated in the Telangana Movement. He Stood as a Student Leader. He is also a Member of the TRS party Politbureau. In 2009, He contested as MLA from the Huzurnagar constituency but he lost. He joined the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) party. In 2014, he was won the Telangana Legislative Elections as a post of Member of the Legislative Assembly(MLA) from the TRS party.

From 2014-2015, he served as Minister for Education, Government of Telangana. He was selected as Minister for Energy from 2015-2016. From 09-02-2016 to 25-04-2016 Jagadish worked as Minister for Energy, Scheduled Castes Development and Co-operation, Government of Telangana.

From 2016-2018, he was selected as Minister for Energy and Scheduled Castes Development. From 19-02-2019 to 07-09-2019, he was the Minister for Education, Government of Telangana.

In 2018, Telangana Legislative Elections, he was elected as Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) from Suryapet Constituency from the TRS party. From 08-09-2019 – Till Date, he serving as Minister for Energy, Government of Telangana.

Personal life:

Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy was married to Sunitha . They have a son and Daughter.
