Sanjay, who started his political career with the Telangana Rashtra Samiti Party, contested as a Telangana Rashtra Samithi Party candidate in the 2014 Telangana General Election and lost to Congress Party candidate Jeevan Reddy by a margin of 7828 votes. [4] In the Telangana by-elections held in 2018 , he contested as a Telangana Rashtra Samithi Party candidate and won with a majority of 60,774 votes over Congress Party candidate Jeevan Reddy.

Early life:

Sanjay was born on July 6, 1962 to Hanumantha Rao and Vatsala in Jagityala town of Telangana state . In 1989, he completed his MBBS from Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada under Nagarjuna University. In 1992, he completed his post graduation in MS (Ophthalmology) from JJM Medical College, Kuvempu University, Karnataka . After that he worked as a medical practitioner (doctor).

Political career & Timeline:

He started his political journey with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Party. In 2014, He contested as MLA but he lost with Jeevan Reddy. He has a close relationship with MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha. In 2018, He was elected as Member of the Legislative Assembly of Jagtial from the TRS Party.
