Ganesh Gupta started his political career through the TRS party and contested as Member of Parliament from Nizamabad in 2009 and lost. He contested the 2014 Telangana General Election from the Telangana Rashtra Samiti Party and won by a margin of 10,308 votes over the Congress candidate Mir Majaj Ali Sheikh. Ganesh Gupta contested the 2018 Telangana by-elections on a Telangana Rashtra Samithi Party ticket and won by a margin of 25,841 votes over the Congress candidate Taher Bin Hamdan.

Early life:

Ganesh Gupta was born on June 2, 1969 to Krishnamurthy and Suvarnamala in Maklur village of Maklur Mandal, Nizamabad District , Telangana State . Ganesh Gupta completed his tenth standard in Zilla Parishad High School in Swagram in 1985 and completed his intermediate education in CSI College, Nizamabad in 1987. He completed Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) from Guru Nanak College of Engineering, Gulbarga University in 1996. After that he did business for some time.

Political career & Timeline:

He started his political journey with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) party. From 2014-2018, in Telangana Legislative Elections, he was won the post of Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) of Nizamabad Urban Constituency with the highest majority of 42,148 votes from the TRS party. In 2018, in Telangana Legislative Elections, he was won the post of Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) of Nizamabad Urban Constituency with the highest majority of 71,896 votes from the TRS party.
