He is certain that the ultimate solution for the Covid-19 is a vaccine. He estimated that it might be available by 2021.
Professor Rao was concerned about the center decision in relaxing major restrictions. He believes that it is a hasty decision. The erudite scholar is upset over the behavior of educated people. Their lack of discipline is shocking. He compared that to the people in Scandinavian Countries especially Sweden where the citizens practice social distancing without any authority forcing them.
Professor CN Rao explicitly stated that the country should have been prepared in dealing with a migrant problem. The exodus and lack of planning had indeed created myriad issues for the state to deal with. The economy and healthcare are in a dire situation. He was quite clear that online classes for KG, first and second grade should be stopped immediately.
Professor Rao was the Chairman of the Science Advisory Council to the Prime Minister from 1985-1989, and 2004-2014. He showed his displeasure about online classes and he strongly believes that human involvement is a must and virtual classrooms will not inspire young minds.
