During discussions on the Krishna waters dispute, CM Revanth Reddy became aggressively confrontational towards the former CM, using the derogatory term “Randa” for diverting Telangana’s waters to AP. In response, BRS leaders, including ex-MP and ex-MLA Balka Suman, retaliated with verbal attacks on Revanth.
Suman criticized Revanth’s rise to CM, attributing it to external factors rather than genuine public support, and made offensive statements about his character. He accused Revanth of playing “cheap games” despite holding the CM position and criticized him for derogatory remarks against former CM KCR.
“Revanth Reddy oka Randa gadu, howla gadu… paagal gadu… dedhdimak gadu. Ee chettha na kodukuni chepputho kottali. Revanth Reddy naa kodaka kabaddhar,” Suman said as he turned aggressive while speaking about Revanth. Not stopping at that, he took out slipper and showed it to the camera while saying “Cheppu tho kottali”.”
While political discourse permits verbal remarks, personal attacks and displays of disrespect, such as showing a slipper, are unacceptable. Public representatives should set a standard for respectful dialogue, rather than engaging in unparliamentary behavior. This sentiment was echoed by a social observer commenting on Balka Suman’s speech.
