Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy criticized former CM and BRS leader K. Chandrasekhar Rao for unfairly distributing Krishna water between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Addressing the Assembly on the issue of unequal water sharing with AP, Revanth Reddy claimed that KCR, swayed by the hospitality of MLA Roja, who is now a minister, promised to transform Rayalaseema into “Ratanala Seema” after enjoying ragi sankati and royyala pulusu.
According to Revanth Reddy, KCR neglected the concerns of Telangana, disregarding the various project basins that deprived the state of its rightful water share, and instead offered the Krishna water generously to AP representatives. Now, with the Congress government in power, he questioned who should be held accountable for depriving Telangana of its water share.
Revanth Reddy also highlighted instances where KCR permitted projects like Mucchumarri by former CM N. Chandrababu Naidu and expanded Pothireddypadu’s capacity to 44,000 cusecs under late YSR’s tenure. Furthermore, he mocked KCR’s gesture towards Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy by recalling how a lavish lunch served at Pragati Bhavan preceded the approval for the Rayalaseema LI project, with the foundation stone metaphorically laid on the dining table.
