After defeat in assembly elections BRS has now focused on parliament elections. It has set a goal to win majority in upcoming elections. BRS have decided to hold meetings for selection of candidates. The meetings would be conducted in two phases. Under the instructions of BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), KTR, secretary general K Keshava Rao, former Speaker Madhusudhana Chary, former Ministers Harish Rao, Kadiyam Srihari, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Jagadish Reddy, Prashanth Reddy, Niranjan Reddy, and other important leaders would be part of these meetings in Telangana BhavanWill the change of MP seat in joint Karimnagar cause trouble in BRS party? If ticket is given to ex-minister, will sitting MP change party?
The BRS party is considering a senior leader to contest the general elections from this parliamentary seat and Eshwar appears to be the party’s first choice. Eshwar lost the assembly elections from Dharmapuri constituency. While sitting MP Venkatesh is also in the consideration, another name that’s making rounds for the MP seat is Balka Suman who was defeated in the recent elections from Chennuru assembly segment. He is the former Member of Parliament from Peddapalli.
Even though Venkatesh has been the MP of Peddapalli for the last five years, the party leadership feels that there is still a need to make new acquaintances in that area. Not creating an image and cadre for himself has become a minus point for him. It seems that is the reason for KCR to decide to make former minister Koppula Eshwar contest for Parliament this time. Ishwar’s familiarity in the coal belt area and his earlier work as a Singireni laborer are believed to be a converging factor. Besides this it is expected that the experience of winning as an MLA in Medaram and Dharmapuri and working as a minister will become plus points for Koppu. Along with this, it is reported that the lack of strong candidates for BJP and Congress parties will make BRS strong.
