In another setback for the YSR Congress party and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, legislator Vasantha Krishna Prasad, representing Mylavaram constituency, has chosen to refrain from participating in the party’s rally “Siddham” in Denduluru, Eluru district.
Vasantha Krishna Prasad seems to have conveyed his disinterest in attending the meeting to the party leadership, signaling a potential exit in the near future. Speculations suggest he may join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Despite Jagan endorsing Vasantha for the Mylavaram seat, the legislator remains dissatisfied, even amid lobbying efforts by Housing Minister Jogi Ramesh for the same seat.
Recently, Vasantha Krishna Prasad has been openly expressing discontent with the Jagan government, criticizing its focus solely on welfare schemes at the expense of state development. He has also raised concerns about the government’s failure to settle outstanding bills with contractors for completed projects.
With Vasantha distancing himself from the party, Jagan has reportedly instructed Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani to mobilize attendees for the Denduluru rally on Saturday. Nani, joined by Padamata Suresh Babu, Eluru MLA K Abbayya Chowdary, and MP candidate Karumuru Sunil Kumar Yadav, has actively engaged in rallying support for the event, aiming to counterbalance the impact of Vasantha’s non-cooperation. The situation underscores the internal challenges within the YSR Congress party as it navigates dissent and strives to maintain unity ahead of crucial political events.
