Boman Irani, the well-known actor, is making headlines as the man of the moment. He recently returned from a successful Indo-UK Summit in London, where he made a significant impact. His speeches at renowned places like Oxford University, The British Parliament, and The Indian High Commission not only made India proud but also inspired many.
During his Oxford visit, Boman Irani gave a memorable speech and received recognition from Dr Aditi Lahiri for his influence beyond movies. Reflecting on his life journey, he shared important moments, from childhood experiences with his mother encouraging him in theatre to his diverse roles, including working as a photographer.
Opening up about his childhood challenges, Boman Irani revealed, “I was dyslexic, and I used to lisp a lot. Every time I spoke, people would laugh, and I feared they’d make fun of me. It took me many years to understand that you can’t afford to be afraid”
“One day in school, during a concert, my mother saw me smiling and singing away. That’s when she realized I liked being on stage. Even though my grades weren’t great, she encouraged me to go to the theatre, see a speech therapist, and watch cinema every day because my education happened through movies. She saw in my eyes that I love that world.”
With humility and encouraging words, Boman Irani shared with students how ethics, focused vision, and hard work can lead to earning rewards and fulfilling dreams throughout life.
