Malayalam Director Sachy Passes Away…Celebrities Mourn the Loss

Malayalam director KR Sachidanand popularly known as Sachy has passed away last night. The 48-year-old director has undergone a hip surgery in a private hospital recently. He was rushed to Jubilee Mission Hospital in Thrissur on 16th June when he suffered a cardiac stroke while recovering from the surgery. He was immediately put on a ventilator in ICU but unfortunately, the director did not recover and succumbed to death.

Sachy’s recent film ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ which stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon became a blockbuster in Mollywood. The talks are also on to remake this film in Tollywood. Sachidanand aka Sachy hailed from Kodungalloor and used to be very active in theatre since his college days. He scripted several films before making his debut as a director in the year 2015 with the film ‘Anarkali’. But the big break came to him with AK in 2019. Sachy was also a practicing lawyer in Kerala High Court.

The Malayalam film industry is grieving the director’s demise and his fans who kept praying for his recovery are left engulfed in deep grief. He started his journey as a scriptwriter along with his friend Sethu. The Sachy-Sethu duo worked for several successful films in Malayalam. Later, he also enjoyed a remarkable success as an independent screenwriter.

Celebrities are mourning the death of the director. Bollywood actor John Abraham expressed that he is shattered to lose such a talent. Actors Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, and Dulquer Salmaan are among those who condoled the demise of Sachy.
