Jagan’s Way is to Jolt Dissenting Voice and Take decision As Per Whims and FancyJul 13, 2020 11:27 AM
The new district formula would bring forth plenty of headaches to the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh. The final call will be taken on the 15th of July. There is, as usual, an arbitrary decision taken by the gang leader and dictator YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that every Lok Sabha constituency will be divided into districts. Hence, the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh will transform from 13 districts to 25 districts. Maybe The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is turning superstitious like KCR from Telangana. He is perhaps uncomfortable with number ‘13’ which is often associated with bad luck.
However, YSRCP believes that it is their birthright to take an arbitrary decision without consulting the opposition and the civil society. It is akin to dictatorship and against the spirit of Democracy. The furor about the decision and people’s frustration is very much visible in the iconic blunder of 3-capital policy. It will lead to legal battles because of the various stakeholders. This would only lead to governance issue and the much-cherished idea of Amravati development would come to standstill.
There is plenty of dissenting voice against the new district policy. Also, delimitation leads to geographical changes in LS constituencies. Hence it would also affect the functioning of the newly formed districts. Take for instance Guntur district where there used to be four LS seats which were: Bapatla, Tenali, Guntur, and Narasaraopet. Delimitation led to the removal of Tenali and it was no more a LS seat since 2009 polls. There are several assembly segments in Bapatla LS constituency from Prakasham district. If Jagan starts with his new plan of increasing the district then Guntur district will have three new districts.
