Jagan attempting to replace YSR memory?

Late YS Rajashekar Reddy was a populist leader in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh state who lost his life in a helicopter accident while he was on official visit. After delivering victory to Congress party in 2009 within 4 months this horrible tragedy took place. After that State politics have taken a drastic turn and even the state itself got divided into present two. Many believe if YSR was alive it wouldn't have happened.

But now it's already more than a decade since YSR died and people's memory being small and thin, Jagan has gone to great lengths to keep his memory alive in people's mind. It could still work only with those people who has seen YSR actions persoanlly say, who were above 30 years of age when the tragedy stuck YSR family but not on the young generation who were in schools.

After naming his political party as Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), Jagan Mohan Reddy cleverly invoked memory of his father YSR and made sure that name remains relevant in the long run even if people forget YSR. As generations pass by even if people don't forget who was YSR, at least they won't be able to emotionally link with his image anymore.

It seems that same logic in now under operation in naming the Andhra Pradesh Government Schemes. Mainly those schemes that are relevant for people over the age of 35-40 are being named after YSR and any schemes for peoples younger than 35 years are being labelled after CM Jagan.

Jagan is carefully cultivating the image among younger and teenagers as they are the future voters. A 10th standard student today becomes a political decision maker in just 3 years. With that understanding if one looks at the names of various schemes it becomes clear the thinking that Jagan is adopting.

Schemes for Farmers, pensioners, Agriculture related, Housing, Health, Marraige expenditures etc are named after YSR. All these are applicable to people who are above the age of 40 years. School education (primary and secondary), Children welfare, Nutrition, Self employment, etc are being named after "Jagananna."

Let us see, if such gimmicks really help Jagan to sustain himself in the long run.
