The AP Government and TTD have decided to sell a few of the assets of the devasthanam in Tamil Nadu by stating that these immovable properties and agricultural lands are unviable. The board decided to go for a public auction of these assets. A strong objection is raised by the AP opposition parties and several religious groups questioning the board’s decision.

Mohan Babu’s younger son and actor Manch Manoj also responded to this issue. He released a note on twitter pointing several questions to TTD. ‘Did Lord Venkateswara tell you to auction his lands?’ was the first question shot to the TTD board by Manchu. Quoting that TTD is the powerful and sole decision-maker on Tirumala, he expressed that board not only controls lakhs of devotes but it also fixes the ‘wakeup time’ for the Lord in the name of ‘Suprabhata Seva’.

Vishnu also stated that his voice is quivering when he is trying to chant ‘Govinda… Govinda’ since he heard the news of auctioning God’s assets. ‘I knew that there won’t be any corruption as the assets are put on for public action, but I am just requesting the TTD to clarify the need to take such a decision’ asked Manoj. At the same time Manchu's hero also tried to downplay his reaction by clarifying that he is questioning the board’s decision just as a native of Tirupati.

Incidentally, Manchu Manoj is the first celebrity from Tollywood to respond on this issue. Pawan Kalyan and Naga Babu also objected to TTD’s decision but they are in politics also. The Jana Sena chief opined that TTD’s decision sets a wrong precedent for other temples too. ‘Edukondalavaada… Venkataramana… Govinda… Govinda…You only have to save your assets along with the people’ tweeted Naga Babu in his own style.

Finally, the TTD board has gone back on its decision to auction Srivaru lands in Tamil Naidu owing to the growing furor in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is pertinent to mention here that Manchu Vishnu’s father supported YSRCP in the last elections. Now his son questioning Jagan sarkar has become a point for discussion even in political circles also.
