The first images of the new Ram Lalla idol, initially covered with cloth, emerged on social media on Thursday night, creating a buzz. Subsequent pictures without the cover surfaced a day later, although certain groups, including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the temple trust, refrained from releasing any photographs.
The consecration of the Ram Lalla idol took place on Friday in the ‘Garbha Griha’ of the Ram Temple, accompanied by chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram.’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to be the chief guest at the upcoming ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony, led by a team of priests headed by Lakshmikant Dixit. Following the consecration, Ayodhya will be aglow with 10 lakh diyas, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.
In response to Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s call, ‘Ram Jyoti’ will illuminate homes, shops, religious places, and historic sites, symbolizing the divine presence of Lord Ram in Ayodhya. Drawing parallels to Diwali celebrations upon Lord Ram’s return from exile, Ayodhya will relive the joy with the illumination of ‘Ram Jyoti’ after the consecration ceremony. The Uttar Pradesh government, known for its annual ‘Deepotsav’ festivities, will once again showcase Ayodhya’s splendor, captivating global attention with this divine spectacle on January 22.
Mayor Girishpati Tripathi highlighted the evolution of Deepotsav since 2017, from 1.71 lakh diyas to a record-setting 22.23 lakh diyas in the 2023 Deepotsav, emphasizing the growing scale and magnificence of the event.
