Freedom of Expression in Jeopardy Under YSRCPJul 20, 2020 02:07 PM
Under YSRCP the freedom of expression is under serious threat. However, their media mouthpiece blames the opposition of Goebbels propaganda. But it is the YSRCP that indulge in serious propaganda. Great Andhra is one such media outlet where YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the center of attention and the world comes to a halt if something happens to the Chief Minister. The daily dose of accolades towards Jagan is the nucleus of the website. Even the worse administrative decision are mitigated and tweaked to show the chief minister as a superhuman.
Former CM of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu had raised concern over the trampling of freedom of speech. He appealed to Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan to seriously look into the matter and ensure fundamental rights to the citizens; also to uphold the constitution of India. So far the media under Jagan and other MP’s and MLA’s of YSRCP are on a rampage and crush anyone who challenges the policies of the State Government.
Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that freedom to express views is throttled and there is an incessant witch- hunting towards the opposition who challenge the current Government. There had been plenty of unlawful arrests recently on anyone who spoke against YSRCP; in fact, the intolerance is visible on their part. For instance, Raghurama Krishnam Raju is a glaring example of YSRCP and their highhandedness.
In Prakasham district two youth were wrongfully arrested and brutally tortured by the state police. It was a serious violation of Article 19 of the Indian Constitution. The two men were Vadella Sandeep Kumar of Ongole and Thottempudi Chandrasekhar of Naidupalem village – both young men were arrested on July 16th on a social media post. The post was related to Tamil Nadu police arresting YSRCP Minister Balineni Srinivas Reddy and seizing 5.27 crore from his car. Instead of catching the real culprit responsible for transporting a huge sum of money from Andhra Pradesh the Police caught the whistleblowers and punished the real heroes.
