Bulldozing Democracy like Praja VedikaJun 26, 2020 06:28 AM
It has been exactly one year that Praja Vedika, a TDP Meeting hall was demolished by Jagan Mohan Reddy Government for violating environmental laws. The meeting hall was adjacent to Chandrababu Naidu's house which was used as a meeting hall and a grievance centre for the public when has was Cheif Minister. But with the demolition of the structure, YSRCP has sent a strong message about the status of TDP in the changed circumstances of losing power in the state. This demolition is now being extended to TDP party structure itself.
Today TDP leaders former minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Varla Ramaiah, Kollu Ravindra, Nakka Anand Babu and Rajendra Prasad were on the way to visit Praja Vedika site when they were arrested by police who shifted them to Mangala Giri police station. A slight tension prevailed in the undavelli region of Amaravati due to their arrests. Demolition of Praja Vedika was not appreciated by the public at large in the state. It was built at a cost of Rs Nine crores rupees. The structure could have been used for any other purpose.
TDP politburo member Varla Ramaiah held a meeting in which he fired at the Jagan Government calling it an autocratic and authoritarian Government. He said that there is an unannounced emergency in the state of Andhra Pradesh and the fundamental rights of people are being bulldozed like Praja Vedika was bulldozed. He said it is a police Rajyam, Raja Reddy Rajyam that is running in the state.
